Kara is a New Jersey-based multidisciplinary artist. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts with a concentration in painting and a minor in African American studies from Montclair State University.
Kara has a great deal of artistic experience at a variety of schools and positions. She initially focused on the theoretical side of art but quickly found her passion and proclivity for improvisation and self-expression.
Kara’s main intention with her art is to create a space where all Black bodies are represented. The lack of Black representation present in museums has always left her uninterested and eager to create pieces of work that depict black people throughout the diaspora in ways that highlight our greatness, skill, intelligence, importance, and beauty.
